Reports from the previous meeting were approved
5) HEAD’S
REPORT
Linda seeked approval from the
Committee to go ahead and book the Snow Queen for lower KS2. Snow
Queen is a workshop that teaches children to sing and act out a school
production which would be
staged some time between October half-term and Christmas. It was agreed that Linda should go ahead and book this.
It was also reported that Earthworks
has delivered and put in place the safety bark in the outdoor play area.
6) SUMMER
FAIR
-
Maggie and Margie are organising the Fair this year; the next meeting will take
place on Thursday 10th May to
discuss in further detail. It was
suggested that we should have a Circus theme.

It was gareed that MUFTI day will be held on 21st June - bring a bottle
-
A Summer Fair launch letter is to be sent out by Margie
-
Was agreed that we would not have the climbing wall this year as it is too
expensive and difficult to break
even; we will have a bouncy slide/castle instead

Linda Crawley will undertake the Country Dancing, as per last year

The Fleetville Steel Band has been booked
-
The question of running a 'Football Skills' workshop was raised; Jane Byrne
(YR) to check with M Ordinare(?)

Margie to look into the possibility of having a train ride around the
playground

Maggie to talk to Emily (parent) at Trestle re: anything they could help with
or do in terms of entertainment/activities

Jane Byrne to investigate whether some of the children would like to put on a
show, such as an acrobatic show

the Banner competition for the children will take on a 'Circus' theme this year

Jill to ask Millie's (Y1) dad (Adam Stock) if he could take on organising the
Tug of War again

Maggie to find out about the possibility of 'borrowing' a Police Car and a
couple of Community Officers for
the day

Margie to organise the drinks license

Ian to organise Pimms to serve to the adults

Ride-on toys to be set up in YN playground

Maggie to book an ice-cream van

Need to organise an Asian food stall
RAFFLE

Dixie organising; to try for an Ipod Nano as a main prize, followed by a
digital camera and a case of wine

Dixie will also organise a Prize Tree as per last year
7) MATTERS
ARISING
-
Pergolas; looking to implement for shade in the hot
weather and protection from wet weather.
Liz Charman to research
pergolas/gazebos/wall-mounted awnings

the matter of Water Butts in the school grounds was
raised but not concluded; again, Liz to research
- the issue of Recycling was also raised; should we push for
recycling at the summer fair? Matter not
concluded

Linda Crawley to get quotes for putting shelves up in the shed in order to keep
it more organised and to keep
things off the floor

Liz Charman mentioned the lack of kitchen equipment in the children's cooking
area. It was agreed that the equipment is around in school but
needs to be found and returned, then audited. We should then replace anything that does need replacing and keep a list
on the cupboard doors.

OTHER BUSINESS
- SCHOOL DISCO; Sarah Shreeves to
book and organise the end of school disco.
A new DJ has been booked this year.
- BIKE DAY; to be held on 20th May
between 10:00 and 12:00, organised by Claire Hall and Rowena.
- BBQ; Jill to look at the state of
the old BBQ and decide whether we need to purchase a new one for the summer
fair.
